Weather Related Closing of the Center

The Forks Senior Center’s policy on inclement weather states that “if weather conditions or other exceptional circumstances exist that might jeopardize the health, safety, or well-being of members and other visitors, we will close and suspend regular operations.”

Since we are in a Calhoun County owned facility we may also close if the County closes their facility.

“The Executive Director is authorized to close the facility if she/he believes that extreme weather or other circumstances warrant closure. The Executive Director will consult with the FSC Board President or other officer prior to implementing such a closure.”

If a decision is made to close the Center notice will be provided to the FSC Board of Directors, area media outlets including WWMT Channel 3, the Albion eNews, posted on our Facebook Page, and emailed out via Constant Contact. A sign will also be posted at the Center.

If you have any questions or concerns on this policy please feel free to speak with Carol Maynard, Board President, or Luann Sommers, Director.

Even with this policy, there may be times when the center is open, and using your best judgment, it may not be safe for you to venture out. Please use your best judgment on how the weather in your area is, and if it is safe for you to venture out.
